St. Patrick's Day events in the Joliet Area!

St. Patrick's Day is always a widely celebrated holiday. Not only do we feast, party, and attend parades, but we also recognize this day as an important event in history, when we commemorate Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity into Ireland, and the history and culture of the Irish in general. If you are deciding what event to attend, here are just a few in the Joliet area. 

St. Patrick’s Day – Elder Brewing Co.
When: March 11th, 8 pm


Kick off the start to St. Patrick’s Day early at Elder Brewing Co. Musicians Aly Flood and John Condron will be performing, and although they are very Irish, you don’t have to be to enjoy their music. Come by and dance and/or drink to their tunes. 

 

Joliet Area’s Irish History – Joliet Area Historical Museum
When: March 12th, 1 pm – 3 pm


Join the Museum Sunday, March 12, and listen to local historian Mary Beth Gannon present Joliet Area’s Irish History. Learn of the stories, struggles, and successes of Joliet’s Irish. Admission is free. 

 

A Shamrockin’ Good Time – Rialto Square Theatre
When: March 16th, 7:30pm


The Celebration of all things Irish returns for its second edition. This year’s Shamrockin’ event will include two dozen local artists performing traditional and contemporary Irish music, along with Irish dancers, bagpipers, a youth choir, and a traditional Irish session. 

 

A Gnome & A Leprechaun Walk into a Bar – Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park and Theatre
When: March 17th – 18th, 8pm


The Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park & Theatre presents A Gnome & Leprechaun Walk into a Bar. Can’t these folks get along? Be the first to find out in this live comedic production’s debut! 

 

AMITA Health Bolingbrook St. Paddy’s Half Marathon & 5K – The Village of Bolingbrook
When: March 19th, 7 am – 12 pm


Run the streets of Bolingbrook! The marathon and 5K start at the Bolingbrook Village Hall. Use #StPaddysRun when sharing photos from the event!
