Have you ever seen a shooting star? Up your odds during the Perseids meteor shower. This is considered one of the brighter meteor showers of the year. Forked Creek Preserve was selected as the location because of its lowered light pollution. The darker the sky, the more brilliant the show trust us, its worth the drive. This year, peak activity will be in the early morning hours of Aug. 12, so join us the night before!Pack a chair, a blanket and some snacks and head to the preserve at night, when the gates are usually locked. Drop in any time between 8 and 11 p.m. for stargazing.
