The Hegeler Carus Mansion is a National Historic Landmark in LaSalle, Illinois (just a short drive from Starved Rock State Park). The mansion is open year-round, Thursday through Saturday with one-hour guided tour begins at the top of the hour starting at noon each day. Virtually unaltered since its completion more than a century ago, the 57 room Mansion, built in 1874, is an example of high artistic achievement in architecture and interior design and the site of historic accomplishments in industry, philosophy, publishing and religion.
